Twist Mageri Series Book 2 edition by Dannika Dark Paranormal Romance eBooks
Zoë Merrick, now Silver, continues on an adventure learning about her magic and how to survive in her new Breed World. The characters, their interactions, and twists and turns are entertaining and make for a fun time. The writing remains light and fast-paced. The metaphors tone down from the in-your-face Mikey Spillane style in Book 1. I miss them. Silver evolves as a person as she learns what’s what. There is much foreshadowing that her powers are going to be great someday. The promise of a remarkable story is set. This installment becomes more a romance novel than an urban fantasy. The romances are well done and adds to the escape, I totally felt the attraction and blooming love, but I kept thinking I went to a baseball game and a soccer match broke out. The romance of a side character verges on the X-rated.
I liked this story a lot, but there is a big however: There are five books in this series. I enjoyed the first three immensely. The fourth book, Gravity, got too heavy for me (pun intended and I’m sure the author did as well). It was so heavy, though, that I stopped reading it. I decided I didn’t want to suffer through the frustration/annoyance/aggravation/stupidity/awfulness even if it might end well. I look to books to escape the depressing world, not be tortured by others’ misery. The main character’s stupidity becomes overly annoying by Book 3 and unbearable in Book 4. Love Books 1 and 2, like Book 3, and plow through Book 4 to get to Book 5. Book 5 reviews say that it’s worth it. I decided not to.

Twist Mageri Series Book 2 edition by Dannika Dark Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews
I thought I had reviewed this series the first time I read them but these books touch my heart as the characters develop and you grow along with them. Zoe, now Silver had been changed against her will into a mage. Justus took her in as his let her to train. Here he is shown more feelings though still stiff.
Silver is kidnapped by Logan Cross , a Chitah. He is supposed to turn her over to a man for a favor owed. He decided not to and is falling for her will she resist him or fall for this man of honor. I love all the men in this series.
"Fate brought us together for a reason; there are no accidents. Everything that happens in our lives leads us to a greater destiny, even if we don't always understand the purpose."
I cannot get enough of this series, I'm seriously lost in this world & I love it!! The story is so in depth & there is so much going on, it's almost impossible to lay it out there. Instead, I'm just gonna go over some of my favorite parts.
All of our favorite people are back. Silver is continuing to grow into her new life with the guidance of her Ghuardian Justus. The relationship between these two is amazing. I'll admit, after Sterling I held hope they would end up together, but they have become so much more than I could have hoped for. They definitely still have their bumps in the road. It's clear Justus is stuck in his ways, he's very old fashioned & this reflects in his treatment of Silver as a female. It also become clear she thouroghly enjoys pushing his buttons & riling him up. It gets hilarious at times.
'On a few occasions when I was upset with him, I pulled a shirt from my arsenal. There were three particular T-shirts with vulgar slang written on them that made the vein in his forehead poke out. It was a cute little vein, and I grew fond of seeing its public appearance while I walked behind him like a parade of humiliation.'
Her relationship with Simon is a friggin riot!! Even though he still flirts with her outrageously & they care for one another, they have firmly settled into the friend zone. But Simon is still Simon, which provided some good times.
'By the fifth outfit, I caught on to Simon's little game. He dressed me in scandalous outfits -knowing I would'nt approve- just so he could file the image in his "mental picture drawer" for later recall. Cheeky bastard.'
Adam is still very much a part of her life, but the dynamics of their relationship have shifted a bit since he has become Mage. She still feels responsible for the way his life turned out, but he's happy & is coming into his own as a Mage. We get to spend some more time getting to know some characters that were minor until now, like Knox & Sunny as well as Adam's creator Novis. And then there is Logan Cross. Oh my sweet raging hormones Logan! What a fine fine addition to the story. This series has become a buffet of hott guys. Even though their introduction to each other is less than ideal, seeing their relationship shift & change was seductive (however, I'm still on the fence with how I feel about that. I KNOW, I KNOW, don't shoot me!!)
"Never settle. Make the men in your life run for it; if they tire of the chase, then they're not worth your affections."
"What if someone keeps chasing?"
"Then you will tire and be caught. And that's called settling."
Action, surprises & chaos ensue as Silver is still being hunted by the unknown benefactor. With so many people watching over her she begins to feel suffocated & fights to get some of her independence back. Taking matters into her own hands generally lands her in some form of trouble.
"I gave my word to your Ghuardian that I would watch over you because he said you have a tendency to skip right into the arms of trouble."
It was a wild ride. You never know what to expect, some of the most horrific villians out there will keep you on the edge & silly things like sleep take a back seat. I'm tired but so very ready to see what happens next.
This is a 2.5 star rating, but doesn't have half stars. I got this after reading the first book since it was only $3.99 on kindle. I wasn't sure I wanted to read it after the first one was kind of confusing when describing what a Mage was and could do, but thought I would give it a try. I have a little more understanding about a Mage in this at least, but I will not be buying book 3. It's nice that there are no cliffhangers so that I don't have to. In this book, Silver puts herself in dangerous situations throughout the entire book. There's barely any downtime in the book where the characters are just enjoying themselves or solving things together. She constantly does stupid things that get her in trouble. She's even kidnapped more than once. I realize this is supernatural fiction, but it wasn't realistic how much peril she kept getting in. Most stories like this have a major conflict that includes one or two battles or intense situations. In the first book, she jumped around to different guys and does the same here. I was very unhappy about who she ends up with as a love interest also. It wasn't what I expected, nor would I have written it that way. It's unexpected, which is fine to surprise the reader, but there is also another option that I thought would make more sense and still be one of those where you didn't think they would fit, but they fell in love anyway.
