This is a brilliant continuation of the story between Jolie, a burlesque dancer and Hauk, leader of the resistance movement called the Underlight.

As a reader we get to see more of the story unfolding about Hauk's past and the budding relationship between Jolie and himself. The dance that these two are doing is suspenseful and frustrating at the same time. As a reader you get that they are both into each other, but Jolie has a few feelings that she has to sort out and Hauk has to 'man up' and 'take the bull by the horns and be honest with Jolie if he wants a chance with her. But insecurities and misunderstandings get in the way. Add in an ex girlfriend into the mix and you have a brilliant combination.

The Atropos gang is at it again, more so in this instalment. We get to see the immediate agenda and how they are working to achieve it and will stop at nothing to get it.

I do hope that there will be even more explanations and reveals into Hauk's past. Another reviewer mentioned that where and when he got the tattoo of Odin's mark wasn't quite explained. That could mean a significant event that the author may bring forward in the next book?

I do love the Greek and Norse mythology happening.

Can't wait for the third book... BRING ON MAY 2013!!!!!!

Very good
I thought it is was a great addition to the series. The relationship between Jolie and Hauk is getting HOT!!! I can't wait to read the next one in the series. This really has been a great updated version of Beauty and the Beast.
The 2nd installment in this serues has left me gasping for more. The characters reach in & grab you. You start cheering for them to get together. I cannot wait for the next book. In fact, I've already pre-ordered it.
Great story line that picks up from Book 1 but keeps the story moving and a fast pace. The first two in this series don't feel like novellas because they aren't jumping to unrealistic romance. I liked it so much, I began following the author on facebook and pre-ordered Book 3.
I was hooked with the first book and now I'm almost rabid to finish out the series. Again - the characters are fabulous. I love them separately and I adore them together. The plot line overall is fast paced and exciting. The writing is excellent. The romance is sizzling. I do hope I can look forward to many more Tales of the Underlight.
Loved part two of Hauk and Jolie' s unconventional love story!

Wesley Haukon was severely burned and scarred in a mysterious fire while serving in Afghanistan. A powerful soldier for the Underlight, he is prone to unspeakable violence whenever the occasion calls for it. He can't seem to control himself or remember much of what's happened the following day. The one thing he knows for sure is that what he wants from Jolie is much more than friendship. But how can he ever expect her to look beyond his marred flesh and tragic past?

In the first book Hauk rescued her from a cruel fate. This time around Jolie must save Hauk from the sinister organization, Ananke, and their evil henchman, the Hand of Atropos.
I read the first in the Tales of the Underlight last fall, not knowing what to expect. I was hooked from the start, and when I saw book 2 in my kindle this morning, it was the best Monday I've had in awhile! So yeah, I started it right away, finished it in about 90 minutes. WOW.

I'm not sure what it is about the writing, but it sucks you right in. Makes me want to be a steampunk member of the Underlight! Really makes me want some one-on-one training with Hauk!

I like Jolie, how she's willing to jump right in. She's not a whiner, and I don't remember a time in either book where I wanted her to quit her whining and get on with it. It's nice to have a heroine that's strong, sassy, independent. Yes, she comes from money, and is filthy rich, but that doesn't play a huge part of who she is.

And Hauk. I never thought I'd be so infatuated with a 6'7" scarred, tattooed, wounded man, but I am. Totally. I like his vulnerability, his strength, and his loyalty to Jolie. I just wish the two of them would get on with it!! Hopefully we'll have a book 3. Preferably next week. Another great read, but it really needs to be read as a part 2, I'd recommend reading How Beauty Met the Beast first. It would be worth your time!
